Successful Entry into Automated Intralogistics

In 2020, the medical technology company Ziehm Imaging moved into its corporate headquarters to the new EUROCOM business park. The new relocation allowed the company to remain loyal to its regional roots. In addition, the company also implemented an automation project with the GEBHARDT Intralogistics Group during the same time. The reorganization of its intralogistics processes from incoming goods via production and order picking to outgoing goods were all reworked and automated to bring Ziehm Imaging into the next era of material workflows.
A Holistic Solution Across Different Storage Areas
The GEBHARDT scope of supply included the conveyor system, the automatic small parts warehouse including one StoreBiter® Multi-Level-Shuttle (MLS) per floor, a pallet vertical conveyor as well as material flow computer with storage space management and load monitoring.
At the workstations of the goods receiving department, containers are linked to the goods and transported to the small parts warehouse via the conveyor system.
The GEBHARDT pallet vertical conveyor enables the fast transport of full and empty pallets between floors.
The automatic small parts warehouse supplied by GEBHARDT has one aisle on the ground floor and one on the upper floor. The warehouse is laid out double- or quadruple-deep and is operated with one GEBHARDT StoreBiter® MLS per floor. The shuttle warehouse on the upper floor is connected to the warehouse on the lower floor via a jack.
